Teaching Ethos

‘I have a broad range of experience of teaching with adults and children in both workshop settings and private teaching. My music career started as a teenager playing electric bass in bands. I then went to college for two years to study bass guitar at diploma level.

The following four years were spent at the Guildhall school of music studying both classical and jazz Double Bass on the BMus course. This gave me the foundations for a strong classical technique, combined with jazz vocabulary, harmony and the freedom of improvisation. I enjoy using a blend of both genres to achieve a diverse, creative and adaptable  approach. I enjoy the challenges and problem solving aspects of teaching, aiming to inspire both the young and old, from beginners to experienced players‘.
